Fünf Jahre nach der erfolgreichen Benefiz-Compilation The Tsunami Projekt hat der damalige Co-Organisator Brian Cobb ein neues Prog-Benefizprojekt auf die Beine gestellt: Für The Haiti Projekt konnten erneut zahlreiche namhafte Prog-Rocker wie Neal Morse, Andy Tillison (The Tangent), Dave Meros (Spock's Beard) und Blumenkönig Roine Stolt (mit seinem neuen Projekt Agents of Mercy) gewonnen werden. Sämtliche Einnahmen werden an das Rote Kreuz gespendet und kommen den Opfern der Erdbebenkatastrophe vom Januar dieses Jahres zu Gute.

Die Compilation ist direkt über http://www.thehaitiprojekt.com erhältlich, vorerst nur in digitaler Form als hochwertige mp3s (320 kbps) oder FLAC-Dateien. Für $20 erhält man 40 Songs mit einer Gesamtspieldauer von über vier Stunden.

Besonders reizvoll wird der Benefizsampler durch einige exklusive Beiträge, darunter die Stücke von Andy Tillison und Dave Meros. Auch der Song der Agents of Mercy ist in dieser Form unveröffentlicht (ein alternativer Mix von The Fading Ghosts of Twilight, das hier deutlich spärlicher arrangiert wurde). Mit Mooning, Projection, Relocator, Roland Enders & Friends, Steve Brockmann und The Healing Road sind auch etliche deutsche Musiker an der Aktion beteiligt.

Hello everyone. I wanted to let everyone know that I sent The Haiti Projekt money to the American Red Cross today. The totals are as follows and are current through this moment (Aug 10, 2010):

134 copies sold
$2,680.00 gross intake
$130.72 in PayPal fees
$2,549.28 net intake

I wrote the Red Cross a $2,600.00 check. Once I have a confirmation for the donation, I'll post a scan (for The Tsunami Projekt, they sent us a nice letter of thanks...).
